CVD Diamond Fabrication Engineer, Saxonburg, PA

Basic Function of the Job
Provides process development, manufacturing, and test engineering support for the design, analysis, investigation and solution of complex optical and material fabrication processes, equipment, and products.  Supports and consults for both Production and R&D functions across several departments and teams to solve problems related to materials, optics, tools, machine settings, product specifications, metrology, thin film coatings, and fabrication methods.  Primary focus is on the manufacturing of CVD Diamond, while also assisting in other areas in the Fabrication department when required.  Designs and develops specialized equipment, processes, fixtures, measurement tools, and associated Intellectual Property to establish an industry-leading market position.  Provides training, quality system documentation and technology/process transfer to technicians, engineers, and supervisors while maintaining a continuous improvement mindset.

Job Requirements


Education:
BS in Engineering, Optics, or Material Science.  Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 5 plus years with a BS degree or 2 plus years with a MS degree.  Desired background includes working in an optics or highly technical environment, quality oriented manufacturing environment, or in the processing of hard materials.  Strong hands-on mindset and approach.


Special Skills:

  • Developing and documenting material fabrication processes and equipment.
  • Experience processing CVD diamond or other hard polycrystalline substrates.
  • Quality system knowledge and Six Sigma tools including Minitab, SPC, DOE, FMEA, and Lean
  • Strong communication and organization skills.  Able to multitask.

Payroll Process Leader

Basic Function of the Job
The position severs as the US Leader for payroll management.  This person oversees the team of transaction staff who undertakes the activity to pay the payroll and bonuses, administer deductions, initiates changes and manage various payroll elections.  With the new HRIS and use of ADP, this person is responsible to ensure issues raised are evaluated in an FMEA (failure mode and effect analysis) format, including training others in the workflow (supervisors, HR etc.) to collect facts in such a manner such that issues can be swiftly resolved, and permanently.  It is important that this leader not allow his or her role to be one of fire-fighting any issues raised with no evaluation of potential root causes.  This person will establish a tracking mechanism (help desk) for questions, ensure s/he has the resources needed to answer questions and periodically (once or twice a month) evaluating the totality of topics being raised to see if more systematic issues are arising.

This person is the key liaison with Human Resources to ensure changes in compensation plans, changes in personnel status and changes in HR processes are integrated with payroll and accounting.  This person is also the lead go-to person for executives and board members with questions on the administration of their various agreements related to pay.


Job Requirements


Education:
BS or BA in Accounting/Finance

Experience:

  • 4-6 years of experience multii-national, multi-location payroll centralized into one center on an SAP ERP environment.
  • Exposure to Oracle HCM Global HR & Benefits systems
  • Experienced with ADP as a service provider
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization with the ability to influence others moving towards a common goals
  • Very skilled in the use of quality tools especially FMEA


Special Skills:

  • Strong data retrieval skills and data analysis skills
  • Ability to communicate dispassionately the fact based reasons for issues arising along the employee compensation work flow, from offer through dismissal
  • Understanding of equity compensation administration
  • Well versed in all Microsoft office applications, especially Excel.  Experience with Hyperion FDM and Smart view applications.

Asphere Cell Operator, Saxonburg, PA

Basic Function of the Job
The machine operator is responsible for the set-up and operation of the Asphere Generator, Asphere Polisher, Metrology, and cleaning/inspection equipment for the production of fused silica optics.  They will be responsible for following established production procedures and must ensure that the parts produced conform to all aspects of the print.  Proper selection of tools, feeds and speeds, together with a trained eye for inspection is critical to the successful machining of the optics.  Precise optical and mechanical cleaning, inspection, and metrology have to be performed to not only qualify parts but also to set-up machinery and to apply error corrections.

Job Requirements


Education:
High school graduate or equivalent, strong math/Algebra background or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

  • >3 years of experience in optics related field preferred.
  • Any of the following experience is preferred:  Optics shop experience, Machine shop experience, Machine operation, Inspection, Metrology or QA experience.
Shift:Must be available to work any shift.

Senior Thin Film Process Engineer, Saxonburg, PA

Basic Function of the Job
  • Provides process engineering for all IR thin film production areas, i.e. cleaning, thin film coating and thin film support areas.
  • Responsible for sustaining existing processes in 2-3 production vacuum coating systems. This includes yield control, process monitoring, operator training and developing deterministic processes for their systems.
  • Provides technical guidance and leadership in, planning, and trouble shooting of all thin film processes. 
  • Develops problem-solving methods, including SPC and DOE to insure continuous, deterministic process improvements.

Lead IT Auditor, Saxonburg, PA

Basic Functions of the Job:

This position is responsible for planning and executing various information technology, operational and compliance audits, including but not limited to, internal control reviews designed to identify potential efficiencies, control enhancements and process improvement opportunities.  Ownership of IT General Controls as part of the company’s overall SOX 404 compliance.  Travel to domestic and international locations as required by the audit plan or management request.


Job Requirements:

Education:
